In 2000, the Bass Classic got its start.  Teams of professional bass anglers and their amateur partners compete for cash and prizes on the Aqua Ohio bass-filled reservoirs.  The competition pairs top pro bass anglers with amateur anglers who make a doantion to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.  This a great opportunity for amateurs to fish on a fully-tournament rigged bass boat operated by an experienced angler who shares the ins-and-outs of bass fishing.

In 2016, tournament volunteers introduced a new format based off of Major League Fishing. Each Pro/Am team were joined by a volunteer judge who weighed every eligible Bass, and then released it back into the waters.  All the weight was recorded on a web based site created special for the Muransky Companies Bass Classic hosted by Aqua Ohio.
